Entry into higher education is a real change from high school. The preparatory cycle lasts 2 years and aims to give young students basic technical knowledge in addition to general, scientific and literary improvements. It makes it possible to discover new educational forms of teaching. The work requirements are important and for the transition to secondary education to go as smoothly as possible, promotions are split into half groups in scientific subjects, continuous checks and evaluations are organized throughout the year. Support courses are also set up as soon as difficulties are detected.
 
In addition to strengthening scientific knowledge and deepening the human sciences, the young engineering student from the 1st year tackles new technological subjects for him, thus breaking with the high school system, which is very general. Demanding and dense, the second year is synonymous with strengthening the scientific base and continuity of technical subjects dedicated to Construction in order to better prepare for the engineering cycle.

The experience of the Worker internship at the end of the first year allows the student to discover the professional sector of Construction and more specifically construction sites and to put into practice the knowledge acquired during the year.

 

 

 

The engineering cycle lasts 3 years and allows the deepening of technological, management and communication subjects. Three important internships by their duration and their purpose punctuate this cycle. It is during the 2nd cycle that students should consider leaving for a compulsory semester abroad, either as an internship or in a foreign university: a unique experience that is very rewarding for the student's maturity. -engineer. After having followed all the courses, it is also during this cycle, at the end of the 4th year, that the engineering students choose their specialty: Building or Roads & Structures before starting their last year of the course. The 5th and final year is structured around two highlights. The acquisition of the latest theoretical skills with the End of Studies Project (PFE) and the internship lasting at least 4 months allowing 92.5% of our students to be hired s within 2 months of graduation.

 

The 1st year of the Engineering cycle at ESITC Paris allows you to build up a real scientific and technical culture. Student engineers begin their third year with a Construction Management internship, of at least 4 months, during which they must take on their first managerial responsibilities while remaining, of course, supervised by a company manager. This distant tutoring, which shows real confidence in the trainee, is for him the best possible experience. The academic semester at the school begins in January where students continue to deepen the teachings received previously. The Digital Model (more commonly known as BIM) is entering education and many projects are offered to students
The subjects are divided into 5 teaching units (teaching units) including three techniques, one of communication and one of valuation of the internship by the production of a report, the holding of a defense before a Jury composed of the Management and professors , and an evaluation of the intern by the host company. The year ends with the Technical Studies Office internship for a period of 8 to 12 weeks.
 
This 2nd year is divided into 2 semesters to allow, as part of the compulsory international semester, students who wish to do their second semester in a foreign partner university while having acquired, before leaving, the last necessary technical bases.
 
 
♦ A second semester at school
 
The engineering students study other technological subjects and several projects in French and / or in English, including an industrial project, are carried out in pairs or in groups, thus allowing the students to plan, restart the work upstream of the defense before a Jury. In Expression-Communication, the particularity of the fourth year is the introduction of theater within the French course. Groups of students, formed by affinity, choose their piece to perform it in front of their class and the school administration. The objective of this experience is to affirm each other's personality.
 
 
♦ A second semester at a Foreign University
 
Partnership agreements with foreign universities have been established within the framework of the ECEM-ECM network, the European ERASMUS + program, bilateral agreements.
 
These partnership agreements allow our engineering students to go to foreign universities and immerse themselves in another culture and another way of teaching. The experience is always considered very positive, both by the student and by the companies. At the end of this experience, as part of their course, the student must validate the minimum number of ECTS credits.
 
 
 

OUR INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS

 

 

For the last year of teaching, several possibilities are offered to students

 

♦ A year at school

For the last year, the highlight before graduation, two specialties are offered: Building and Roads & Works of Art. The 5th year begins with an academic semester at the school in order to perfect the teaching of engineering students and to carry out in groups, depending on the chosen specialty, a transversal End of Studies Project (PFE) lasting six month. This project is the subject of an oral defense before a Jury made up of the school management, teachers and business managers. The course set up in the last year by ESITC Paris is a benchmark in terms of pedagogy, given the skills that the transversal project brings to future engineers before entering professional life. In February, engineering students join a company to do their End of Studies Work (TFE), an internship of at least 4 months between February and July. It is devoted to a study (of price, technique or quality, without this list being exhaustive) answering a professional problem of the company. The project is monitored jointly by a school teacher and a company engineer. The quality of this experience is validated by the submission of a report and also an oral defense before a Jury made up of the school management, the teacher and representatives of the host company.

→ The Building project : Students receive architectural plans for a building in paper and digital format. They must design the project taking into account the technical constraints imposed and precise specifications. Based on their in-depth scientific and technical knowledge acquired, they are asked to plan and organize the entire site from its design to its theoretical realization with the study of the interactions of the various trades, the calculation structures and quantities, the evaluation of the price and methods of execution, etc.

This project is developed and followed by professors specializing in each of the required skill areas.

 

→ The Roads and Structures Project :The engineering students receive the topographic data of an existing site via a computer base.Equipped with this base, they must, like their fellow students in the Building specialty, design the project by defining a road layout, by organizing and securing the road site as well as by designing an engineering structure according to the topographical constraints imposed.

This project is prepared and supported by teachers belonging to specialized business services or the Ministry of Transport attached to the Ministry of Ecological & Solidarity Transition. The project report is also the subject of a defense before a Jury made up of the management of ESITC Paris, professors and professionals from the sector.

 

♦ A year in a french partner school

Students can apply for their final year at ESTP, or at ESITCs in Caen or Metz, which offer the same options as at school, but treated differently. This request must be justified and be the subject of a study by the various school administrations. At the end of the 5th year, engineering students can also follow an additional 4 month course at IAE Gustave Eiffel. This additional education allows them to obtain dual skills in Engineering and Business Management.

 

♦ One year in a foreign partner university

Student exchange agreements have been concluded with various foreign partner universities, often under the European ERASMUS + program, providing financial assistance to selected students.
This opportunity allows some engineering students from the school to complete their last year of the course at one of these universities and in some cases obtain a double diploma if the requirements of the host university are met. While leaving for a semester in the 4th year can be considered as an opening to the international scene, the commitment for a year must be justified by a successful professional project. Candidates at the start are selected on this objective, as well as on their academic results and their language level.
